The last stage is already full of surprises
01 Mai 2021 17:00I asked my friends from Brabant (region in The Netherlands) a couple of weeks ago if they would like to discover the last stage with me. After all, good preparation is half the battle. They wanted to, so we hit the road today. It just wasn't an exploration of this stage. I was surprised several times even for my birthday on April 21st. This year I was again forced to celebrate it in a creative way through the corona virus. Fortunately, we are all creative people. Besides my birthday, I also saw along the road how proud they are of me that I want to continue the life's work of Uncle Frans. They had asked their partners to hang up banners along the route with beautiful quotes in the style of Walk for Homs. Quotes that remind them of me and my voyage of discovery to Sunday, April 10, 2022. That is fantastic! Their partners and my boyfriend Roderick (I will be married to him on May 4) came to encourage us along the route with all kinds of delicacies. Thus it was a piece of cake to complete the route. While chirping (that's what they call chatting in Brabant) the kilometers flew by and we arrived at the St. John's Cathedral in 's-Hertogenbosch. I was therefore not surprised that we walked an extra four kilometers, because we had completely missed some of the signposts with arrows to show us the way. But hey, it doesn't matter. Everything happens for a reason in my opinion and it was a truly beautiful route. Especially the last 10 to 13 kilometers were beautiful.
