Join the first and last stage (2022)
On Tuesday 5 April 2022 it is possible to join the first stage and last stage on Sunday 10 April of the pilgrimage. After the special service in the Obrechtkerk in Amsterdam, in memory of Frans and to reflect on the people in Syria, we will start the first leg towards De Hoef around 10:00 am. Once arrived in De Hoef it is time to say goodbye to the pilgrims. On Sunday 10 April at 09.00 you will join us again in Heusden to walk the last stage with us. On Sunday 10 April 2022 we will depart from Heusden in the direction of 's-Hertogenbosch at 10:00 am. In 's-Hertogenbosch we will be welcomed by Monsignor De Korte in the St. John's Cathedral. At 4.30 pm he will accompany a special service in memory of Frans and to remember the people of Syria.

You walk from Amsterdam to De Hoef and from Heusden to 's-Hertogenbosch. You will receive the exact location where we will finish and the .gpx file of the route by e-mail at the latest one week before departure.

Along the way we will talk to each other about love, the love for yourself and others.

Collect sponsor money
Our support is desperately needed for reconstruction in Syria. We would therefore like to ask you to raise at least 368 euros for the projects that we do with Walk for Homs.
Track performance
It is possible to keep track of your walked kilometers on your campaign page. You can do this by manually adding the kilometers walked to your campaign page after each walk. Or by linking your Strava account when you are logged in. Then your kilometers are automatically added to your promotion page after each walk.
Cost
The registration fee is 45 euros. This amount includes lunch, snacks, use of the toilet at the rest areas and transport from De Hoef back to a central location. If you register before March 1, you will receive a memento of this walking tour and your efforts on Sunday, April 10, 2022.
Supporters Obrechtkerk, Amsterdam
There is room for extra visitors in the Obrechtkerk in Amsterdam, so ask your family, friends and supporters to attend the prayer celebration at 09:00 on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. After that, they can wave you goodbye as you leave your pilgrimage. Your supporters must reserve a place in the church for this. They can do this on the 'Commemorate and reflect on' page.
Supporters St. John's Cathedral, 's-Hertogenbosch
There is room for extra visitors in St. John's Cathedral in 's-Hertogenbosch, so ask your family, friends and supporters to come and welcome you when you arrive around 4 pm. Of course it is then possible for them to attend the prayer celebration at 4.30 pm on Sunday 10 April 2022. Your supporters must reserve a place in the church for this. They can do this on the 'Commemorate and reflect on' page.
Transport first stage
We do not provide transport to the Obrechtkerk in Amsterdam. However, from the end point De Hoef, because there only a local bus for 7 people returns to the bus station of Uithoorn or the station in Breukelen. What we will organize to drop you off at a central location, such as Schiphol or Amsterdam South, depends on the number of participants who participate. From there you can continue home on your own. Of course it is also possible to ask someone from your own environment to bring and/or pick you up.
The Obrechtkerk in Amsterdam is easily accessible by public transport. Consult 9292 or Google Maps to plan your route.
Transport second stage
We do not provide transport to the starting point in Heusden or from the end point in 's-Hertogenbosch. There are several options for returning home.
- Ask someone if he/she can bring you and/or pick you up.
- Take public transport
The special service will end at 5:30 PM. Heusden can be reached by public transport by bus 135 from Wijk en Aalburg and 's-Hertogenbosch Central Station. The central station of 's-Hertogenbosch can easily be reached on foot and by public transport (bus 11, 156, 300, 301 & 306) from St. John's Cathedral.
