Participants' regulations
Walk for Homs is a walking event organized by Elefunds.
Participant
- Participant(s): the natural person / persons who have registered via the website www.walkforhoms.nl to participate in one or more of the Walk for Homs events.
Team(s): a registered group of participants who are informed about the event by the team captain.
A participant may only participate in the event if he / she has completed the registration form to that effect completely and truthfully, (with his team) has paid the full amount for participation and if the participant agrees with these participant rules and all other regulations set by Elefunds.
Participation in Walk for Homs is only possible for a natural person from the age of 18. - General participation
Participation is only possible on foot.
- Participation in the event is done by the participant personally. Without prior written permission from Elefunds, it is not permitted to allow another person to participate in the event instead of a participant.
- Upon presentation of the confirmation of registration, the participant is admitted to the pilgrimage from Amsterdam to 's-Hertogenbosch or to the special memorial service in Amsterdam or ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
- Participants are obliged to deposit their waste at all times in the appropriate waste bins of the relevant municipality.
- A registration can be canceled. Sponsorships are non-refundable. In consultation with Elefunds, it will be decided whether the costs for participation can be fully or partially refunded.
- Participation in the 'Pilgrimage of Amsterdam - 's-Hertogenbosch
- Participants who want to join the pilgrimage from Amsterdam to ‘s-Hertogenbosch can register until December 1, 2021.
- Participants bring their own water bottle to refill at the rest points.
- Participants bring their own daypack for the road and one soft bag for the items for the overnight stays.
- Participants are responsible for their own luggage (daypack and softbag).
- Participants are responsible for moving their own soft bag on the Elefunds bus before departure on 5, 7 and 10 April 2022 before 09:30 AM.
- Participants are provided with food and drink every stage with the exception of dinner by Elefunds.
- Escorts on bicycles or mountain bikes and dogs are not allowed for safety reasons.
- Participants do not have to pay for the ferry crossings themselves. Elefunds pays these costs in advance to the relevant ferry company.
- Participants are obliged to wear the Walk for Homs wristband visibly during the pilgrimage. This wristband will be handed out to the participants at the start of the event on April 5, 2022, so that they are recognizable as a participant.
- Walk for Homs is not a competition. Traffic rules and laws apply at all times. Instructions from authorities and Elefunds must be followed.
- Participants must pay a fee for participation. This fee consists of a deposit of 250 euros. This amount must be paid by each participant directly via the website. Participants will receive an invoice by email with the costs for the overnight stays no later than December 1, 2021. This invoice must be paid within 14 days of receipt.
- The final route of the pilgrimage will be shared by Elefunds with the participants no later than one week before departure.
- Elefunds may decide to change the route to be taken on the basis of exceptional circumstances.
Participation ‘Walk along the first and / or last stage
- Participants who want to participate in the first and / or last leg of the pilgrimage from Amsterdam to ‘s-Hertogenbosch can register until December 1, 2021.
- Participants bring their own water bottle to refill at the rest points.
- Participants bring their own daypack for on the road.
- Participants are provided with food and drink every stage with the exception of dinner by Elefunds.
- Escorts on bicycles or mountain bikes and dogs are not allowed for safety reasons.
- Participants are obliged to wear the Walk for Homs wristband visibly during the pilgrimage. This wristband will
- be handed out to the participants at the start of the stage, so that they can be recognized as a participant.
- Participants are responsible for transport to the start and from the finish.
- Participants must pay a fee for participation. This fee consists of 25 euros registration fee. This amount must be paid by each participant directly via the website.
- The final route of the first and / or last leg of the pilgrimage will be shared by the Elefunds with the participants no later than one week before departure.
- Elefunds may decide to change the route to be taken on the basis of exceptional circumstances.
Participation in 'Own pilgrimage to' s-Hertogenbosch
- Participants who make their own pilgrimage to 's-Hertogenbosch can register until December 1, 2021.
- Participants are responsible for the transport to and from the self-selected starting points and finish locations.
- Participants must be present at the Sint JansKathedraal (church) in ‘s-Hertogenbosch on Sunday 10 April 2022 at 4 p.m
- Participants must pay a fee for participation. This fee consists of 15 euros registration fee. This amount must be paid by each participant directly via the website.
Participation ‘Walk yourself
- Participants who make their own walks for Walk of Homs can register until April 4, 2022.
- Participants are responsible for the transport to and from the self-selected starting points and finish locations.
- Participants must pay a fee for participation. This fee consists of 15 euros registration fee. This amount must be paid by each participant directly via the website.
Sponsorships
- On the Walk for Homs website, each participant receives a personal action page to draw attention to his participation and to collect sponsor money.
- Participants of the pilgrimage from April 5 to April 10, 2022 from Amsterdam to ‘s-Hertogenbosch are required to collect a minimum of 840 euros in sponsorship money before January 1, 2022. If this is not achieved,
- Elefunds may exclude the participant from participation.
- Participants who participate in the other walking events of Walk for Homs are asked to collect a minimum of 184 euros after registration.
- Visitors to the special services in the Obrechtkerk (church) in Amsterdam and / or Sint Janskathedraal (church) in ‘s-Hertogenbosch are not obliged to collect sponsorship money.
- Donations for a relevant participant or team are always made via the page of the relevant team or participant on the Walk for Homs website and can only be paid by bank transfer, iDeal, CreditCard and PayPal.
- Participants can collect sponsorship money from April 5, 2021 to April 10, 2022.
- Funds raised during Walk for Homs are exclusively intended for the projects as mentioned on the website of the Jesuit Refugee Service, the Jesuits and ZOA.
- The Jesuit Refugee Service, the Jesuits and ZOA will inform Elefunds about the progress of the projects before, during and after the Walk for Homs.
- Elefunds will inform all parties involved in Walk for Homs about the progress of the projects.
- When more sponsorship money is raised than expected, Elefunds will discuss with the Jesuit Refugee Service, the Jesuits, ZOA and the people in Syria which projects this will benefit from. When this occurs, Elefunds will inform all parties involved.
Privacy and (portrait) rights
- Elefunds can make video and / or sound recordings during the event. Elefunds is entitled to use these recordings or have them used and published, including for promotional purposes, without owing a fee to the participant.
- The images are used by Elefunds for social media, (social) advertisements, websites, press releases and other channels for recruiting participants and informing all people who want to be informed about Walk for Homs.
- By accepting these participants' regulations, the participant grants his / her permission for the publication of photos and images taken with regard to the event on which the participant is visible.
- It is not allowed to make images for commercial purposes during the event without being in possession of
- Elefunds' written permission. This includes, for example, the sale of images taken to third parties.
- Elefunds has the right to exclude participant(s) from participation in the event if the relevant Participant does not comply with these participant regulations and / or other regulations set by Elefunds.
- The participant's data is included in a file. This file is not provided to third parties, but is only used by Elefunds to communicate with the participant about Walk for Homs.
- The participant agrees to the public disclosure of the proceeds and participant numbers on the internet.
- The personal data provided by the participant for the benefit of (participation in) the event will be processed by
- Elefunds for the benefit of the participants participating in Walk for Homs and in accordance with the privacy statement that can be found at www.walkforhoms.nl.
Liability
- Participation is at the risk of the Participant. Elefunds is not liable for any damage, in whatever form, that the participant suffers as a result of participation in the event, unless there is intent or deliberate recklessness on the part of Elefunds.
- Elefunds is not responsible for loss, theft and / or damage to any (personal) property.
- In the event of liability of Elefunds, it is at all times limited to compensation for direct damage and is never higher than the amount that is paid in the relevant case under the liability insurance of Elefunds, supplemented by the amount of the deductible.
- The participant undertakes to take out adequate insurance(s) for damage (whether or not to third parties) arising from his participation in the event.
- The participant declares to be aware of the effort required to participate in the event and also declares to be in good health prior to participating in the event. Elefunds advises participants who have doubts about their health and / or the possibility to participate in the event, to get a medical examination by a doctor before participating in the event.
- Participant indemnifies Elefunds and all companies affiliated with Elefunds against damage resulting from his participation in the event.
Cancellation by Elefunds
- Elefunds reserves the right to cancel Walk for Homs if it feels compelled to do so under the circumstances.
- Elefunds will partially refund the registration fees if relocation is not possible.
- In case of cancellation, the sponsorship funds already collected will be divided proportionally among the Jesuit
- Refugee Service, the Jesuits and ZOA.
- When relocation is possible, Elefunds will discuss with the participants whether the donation money will be paid out immediately or taken to the period when Walk for Homs will take place.
Closing article
- In all cases not covered by these regulations, the Elefunds will decide.
- Participants must follow all directions from Elefunds, any emergency services and traffic wardens related to the event.
- Elefunds has the right to give participants / teams compelling directions regarding participation in the event.
- Participants are responsible for complying with applicable legal regulations (including local traffic regulations).
- Elefunds can decide to exclude a participant and / or a team from further participation in the event in the event of unauthorized and / or unsafe behavior of a participant and / or a team.
- Important participant information as well as the latest information regarding the event will be posted on the website www.walkforhoms.nl or sent to the participant by email.
- In the event of incompleteness or ambiguity of these participants' regulations, the final decision or (final) course of action will always rest with Elefunds. For all questions regarding the event, you can send an email to info@elefunds.nl.
- If one or more articles of these participants 'regulations are declared inapplicable, the other provisions of these participants' regulations will remain in full force.
- Unless a different court has jurisdiction under mandatory law, only the competent court in the Amsterdam district is competent to judge disputes between the parties.
By registering for Walk for Homs, the participant declares that he / she is familiar with and agrees to the above regulations.
